You want a day that’s completely stress-free, intentional, and true to who you are.

You want to ditch the overwhelming guest list, rigid timelines, and packed tourist spots—and instead create a quiet, meaningful adventure where you can slow down, breathe it all in, and just be together.

FAQs

  • Banff has plenty of breathtaking locations that don’t require a long trek. Some of the best easy-access spots include Lake Minnewanka, Two Jack Lake, Bow Lake, Peyto, Tunnel Mountain Reservoir, and Emerald Lake—all offering incredible mountain backdrops just steps from the parking area. If you’re looking for something even more unique, a helicopter elopement can take you to a remote, jaw-dropping location with no hiking required.

  • To legally get married in Banff, you’ll need to pick up an Alberta marriage license in person from any registry office in Alberta (no appointment needed). You’ll also need a registered Alberta marriage commissioner to perform the ceremony and two witnesses to sign the paperwork. If you're planning a private ceremony, I’m always happy to help find witnesses for you!

  • Every season in Banff has its magic! Summer offers easy access to alpine lakes like Moraine and Peyto, while winter brings snowy, cozy vibes. If you’re dreaming of golden larches or quieter trails, September is a sweet spot. I can help you choose the perfect time based on your vision and location preferences.

  • Yes—if you're planning a ceremony in Banff National Park, you'll need a ceremony permit. It’s simple to apply, and I can walk you through the process or help recommend locations that work beautifully for intimate elopements.

  • Absolutely! You can invite guests to your Banff elopement—but there are important rules to keep in mind. If you're planning your ceremony on public land within Banff National Park, the maximum group size allowed for a ceremony is 20 people total. This includes you, your partner, all guests, and any vendors (like your photographer or officiant). These regulations are strictly enforced by Parks Canada to protect the natural environment and ensure everyone can enjoy the space.

If you’re hoping to include more than 20 people, you’ll need to consider a private venue or lodge in the area instead. Keeping your guest list small not only helps you stay within the rules but also makes it easier to access scenic locations, avoid crowds, and have a more intimate experience.
