Emma + Matt invited me to stay overnight at their family cottage (they made me chicken fingers and fries..which is my love language and bought me all the plain food I like lol) on Leslie Lake, Quebec for their fall engagement photos. Emma and I have been friends since we were little kids and if you’ve been following my blog for a while you’ll remember her and Matt from the Tremblant summit shoot last winter. I dragged them there because I wanted to do a couples shoot up there. Matt surprised Emma by proposing at Christmas that year and the shoot turned into a bit of an engagement shoot because now Emma had a ring. But what they really wanted for their official engagement photos was a fall shoot on the lake with a canoe because Emma used to go on long canoe trips in Northern Canada.

I think I’m becoming somewhat famous amongst my family & friends for my incredibly short trips to Toronto recently. It’s a 10 hr drive there and back from Ottawa to Toronto, for those of you who don’t know. This wasn’t the shortest amount of time I’ve been in the city but it was definitely less than 24 hrs. SO WORTH IT THOUGH.

They showed me all the secret places that only locals know about. My favourite was the secret beach at Lands End that has a view of the golden gate bridge and a giant rock/ the ocean.

Tasha did a pole dance tease on the beach with Kyle acting as the pole. And he fake proposed with a seaweed ‘ring’, then they laughed their heads off.

We drove out to the desert (Joshua Tree National Park), climbed some things. Got some shots of Brielle + Eric. Stuck around for golden hour. Drove past Skull Rock (I have so many regrets for not stopping to take photos in front of it!!!) Hunted for Cacti..but didn’t find what we were looking for.
