Lac Meech, Quebec Engagement

Elodie + Max are so much fun!! I’m shooting their wedding next year and I can hardly wait!!!

We did their engagement photos at Lac Meech in Gatineau, Quebec. This was my first shoot getting in the water. Not gonna lie I was a little afraid of dropping my camera in the lake (mostly because the I took the strap off because it was about to break). We battled the crowed beach for a place to shoot. I think we did a pretty good job of making it look like we were the only ones there.. except in the photos where you can see Adrian floating along in the giant pink flamingo!! LOL! Adrian came along with me to the engagement shoot because we had a family 50th wedding anniversary party to go to before hand. He made the shoot extra fun and broke alll the ice so Elodie and Max were super comfortable. He’s the best!! He just floated and swam and talked to locals while we shot. We started off with their normal clothes and just feet in the water. Then they switched into swim suits and got fully in the water. And then they got to play with the big unicorn and flamingo (my favourite!!). They truly looked like they were enjoying them selves and having fun the whole time! I really want to create a space for my couples to enjoy time together while they get their photos taken. It’s a top priority of mine to make sure we have!

Downtown Ottawa Cherry Blossom Engagement

Bethany + Ben’s engagement shoot was of my favourites EVER. Ben wanted to show his fiancé around his city and have photos to show her family as well. They are so much fun!!! We talked and laughed and got to know each other a bit better. We also talked about wedding details for their August wedding in Colorado!! I. CAN’T. WAIT. Bethany has showed me some photos of the venue and it is stunning.

Larose Forest Engagement

Larose Forest seemed like the perfect location for Rose + Michael's winter engagement session. Winter is not my favourite thing. I do not love winter. There's currently a cold weather advisory in effect for Ottawa. But I love how fresh fluffy snow looks. And I like cozy winter vibes. Third wheeling Rose + Michael while they played in the snow was super fun. But I probably need to invest in some better winter clothing if I want to make a habit of this. Tims were not the right choice. I was made for warmer weather.

Intimate Pink Lake Couples Session

Kim + Tikal proved to be the perfect excuse to shoot at Pink Lake in Gatineau. I've seen pictures of the crazy blue/ green water thousands of times but had never actually made the drive out. They were super game for this location and completely trusted the vision I had for it. We made it just in time before all the leaves changed colours. The sky changed dramatically while we were there. It went from being decently bright to dark and stormy, you’ll see that reflected in the photos.Just as a public service announcement there is more than one parking lot at the lake.. sooo if you're meeting people maybe decide on a parking lot to meet at before hand. We also missed each other because of the parking lot situation and lack of service. BUT it all worked out. Look how good they are together!!
