Dominion Arboretum Cherry Blossoms Ottawa
I’ve been dreaming of doing a shoot with the spring blossoms for years but never managed to time it right. UNTIL NOW. This year I begged my sister to model for me in front of the blossoms after she got home from France. We waited a little longer than we probably should have..but we managed to avoid the crowds because of that. There were a few trees with blossoms left JUST FOR US. A gorgeous tree with pink blossoms and two with white. And we were pretty much there alone.
There was a duel purpose for the shoot because I had been talking to one of my old teacher (from the Algonquin Photography Program) and she recommended trying out a new flash modifier the school started using. I thought the blossom shoot would be the perfect time to try it out.
Every thing went well. The shoot was done. And then we heard a super loud alarm go off and my sister realized that it was her phone and she had accidentally activated the emergency dial (911) while it was in her purse. She threw it at me and yelled idk what to do!! I was able to shut it off after a few seconds, thankfully. It gave us a bit of a scare but everything turned out okay.
I can’t wait for you to see these photos! Kaitlyn is a natural in front of the camera.
Cheers to the first official day of summer!!
