Getting There:
By Car: As of 2023 personal vehicles are no longer allowed access to Moraine Lake Road. Unless you have a valid disability hang tag or are staying at Moraine Lake Lodge.
Shuttle Services: In an effort to reduce traffic and environmental impact, Parks Canada has implemented a shuttle system. These services operate during the peak season June 1st - October 14th 2024 when the road to Moraine Lake is open, providing a hassle-free and sustainable alternative. The shuttle also goes to Lake Louise. You need to purchase a shuttle ticket online ahead of when you plan to Visit Moraine Lake. You can purchase shuttle tickets here. 40% of tickets are released April 18th 2024 at 8am MT, the remaining 60% of tickets are release in a rolling window 48 hrs before the date at 8am MT. Shuttle tickets are $11 CAD. It’s wise to screen shot your ticket as there may not be cell phone reception and you will be required to show your ticket. Park your vehicle at the Park and Ride at the Lake Louise Ski Resort. Plan to arrive well before your reservation time. This not only ensures you have enough time to navigate the scenic drive but also allows for any unexpected delays. The Parks Canada Shuttle runs from 6:30am - 7:30pm.
Public Transportation: While limited, public transportation options are available from Banff. Check with Roam Public Transit for the latest schedules and routes here.
